What is a chiropractor?

A chiropractor is a doctor that specializes in removing subluxations or fixations from the spine and other joints in the body to help restore normal function to the joints, the surrounding soft tissue, and the nerves so that your body is able to function optimally.

What does a chiropractor treat?

Chiropractors primarily focus on treating subluxations to return normal joint movement and nerve function. When the nervous system is working properly this will often help relieve pain, numbness, headaches, sinus trouble, asthma, allergies, colic, constipation, among other ailments.

Can I get chiropractic care during pregnancy?

Absolutely! Our doctors will do a thorough examination to make sure you are a good candidate for treatment, as we do with all new patients. As the body changes and the "relaxing" hormones circulate through the body during pregnancy it is an important time to make sure your musculoskeletal system is balanced and functioning optimally. Chiropractic care has also been shown to help improve labor and delivery outcomes!

Is chiropractic care appropriate for children?

Yes, children usually respond very well to chiropractic adjustments. Kids' spines can go through a lot of stress as they grow. From birth trauma, to teething, to learning to walk, to participating in sports, or to spending too much time on an iPad or video game; kids can benefit significantly from adjustments. The type of adjustment for kids is based on their age and area of complaint but are usually much gentler than an adult adjustment

Why do chiropractic adjustments sometimes make a popping sound?

The popping sound is called a cavitation and it happens when there is a pressure release in a joint. There can be gas "bubbles" that build up in a joint and when it is adjusted you can sometimes hear a popping sound as that gas is released.
